Funeral services for PFC. Eddie Taylor Mitchell, who gave his life during World War II, will be held at the Penwell Chapel Tuesday at 3:30 pm. The Rev. Howard L. Brumme, pastor of the Seward Avenue Baptist Church, will be the officiating clergyman and burial will take place in Topeka Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

PFC. Mitchell was born in Cement, Okla. July 9, 1921 and had lived in Topeka since he was 2 years old. He was the son of Mrs. Earl Roe of Topeka. He enlisted in the 30th Ordnance Division of the United State Army in April, 1942 and went overseas in December of the same year. He was killed April 29, 1944 while serving on the Anzio Beachhead.

He leaves besides his mother and stepfather, Mr. & Mrs. Earl Roe, a sister, Mrs. Lloyd Null of Griffin, Ind.; a nephew, Robert Sales of the Army Air Forces at San Antonio, Tex. 2 other nephews and a niece. Also surviving are his father, E.T. Mitchell in California; his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Lou Philley of Oklahoma City; 2 uncles, G.E. Mitchell of Auburn and L.R. Mitchell of Concordia, and other relatives.
