Henry R. "Hank" Seaman, 90, passed away 13 November 2013. He was born on 3 July 1923 in New Britain, CT. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. In 1943 he volunteered and joined the 5th Ranger Battalion. He was assigned to Able Company and started his Ranger Training at Camp Forrest, Tennessee. He participated in D Day and landed on Omaha Beach. He fought with the 5th Rangers in campaigns across Northern France into Germany. He was awarded a Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, President Unit Citation with Oak Leaf Cluster and other awards.
Henry was a long time member of I.B.E.W.Local Union #90 in New Britain and the Business Agent of Local #37 until retirement in 1987. He was an avid fisherman and a Boston Red Sox Baseball fan.
He was survived by his loving wife, Margaret of 68 blessed years of marriage,daughter, Barbara Lauer and grandchildren, Jeff and Kristen Lauer.
Henry was buried in Bushnell, Florida at the Florida National Cemetery. His wife Margaret passed in 2023 and was laid to rest beside him.
